Press release from James Hart for Congress Committee:
Today, Mar. 23, 2010, I begin my congressional campaign to win by "write in" ballot the republican nomination for the 8th district
US House of Representatives and 75th District Tenn. House of Representatives by marching in protest at courthouses throughout
the 8th Congressional District with a 3' by 4' sign that reads VOTES OF MASS DESTRUCTION: 66 VOTES CANCELS 60,000: WHY WOULD WE FIGHT
FOR DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ?: HOW ABOUT DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA?: WRITE IN JAMES HART 8TH DISTRICT.
This direct confrontational approach is necessary because the Republican leadership, in direct contradiction of the will of the voters, 79% of whom
voted for James Hart in the primary in 2004 has canceled and thrown out the votes of 60,000 who voted in the general election that they wanted James Hart
to represent them as the Republican nominee. Haven't the voters already decided who they want to represent them? Who are the 66 members of the Republican
executive committee to take that right away from them?
Brook Thompson, coordinator of elections for the Tenn. Department of State has issued his fatwa that James Hart's name will be stricken from the Republican primary ballot
in both the 8th district US House race and in the 75th district Tenn. Representative race. This despite the fact that I had received a
letter dated Feb. 1, 2006
signed by Brook Thompson himself stating that I had filed the necessary documents with their office and that my name would appear on the ballot in the 2006
Republican primary US House of Representatives 8th district. This despite the fact that I had received letters from Diane Latimer, Benton County
Administrator of Elections, Jill Frye, Henry County Administrator of Elections and Nellie Anderson, Stewart County Administrator of Elections stating that
I had filed the necessary documents and that my name would appear on the 2006 Republican primary as a candidate for the Tenn. house of Representatives 75th District.
The local administrators of elections, Nellie Anderson, Jill Frye, and Diane Latimer are not responsible for any of this and have been completely fair and
impartial in helping me to file the necessary papers to get my name on the ballot.
The blame rests solely with the elitists of the Republican executive committee who would not even allow me to attend, let alone speak to the secret star
chamber hearing that issued this fatwa throwing out 60,000 votes with their 66 votes, and sorrowfully I must admit with Brook Thompson who enabled this
tyranny.
What would prevent an executive committee of 66 people from deciding that George Bush was not a bona fide Republican and throwing his name off the ballot?
What is the purpose of an election if the executive committee can throw your name off the ballot after you win.
Democracy is a farce in America.
My attorney tells me I have excellent prospects of having a court reverse this breathtaking tyranny of having 66 elitists presuming to cancel and throw
out the votes of 60,000 people, but as a grass roots Republican, I do not want an un-elected federal judge dictating to the people or to the election commission.
Therefore, I have decided not to invoke the courts. I am not going to go to a judge but to go directly to the workers, the retirees, the students and to the
60,000 people who voted for me and ask them to write my name in the 2008 Republican primary for both 75th district Tenn. House of Representatives and 8th district US House
of Representatives. My attorney informs me that if I were black they would never do this.
